School and starting fresh

Well just two more sleeps until back to school. Yes I am very much looking forward to it. I like the structure and routine. Darien is going into grade 2 and Draven is starting Junior Kindergarten. You always here people talk about how fast kids grow up, and it’s very true. It’s kind of scary actually. But I’m enjoying every stage…. well most of them anyways lol.

The start of school has always been like the start of a new year for me too. I know years start in January but for me it is always September. Maybe it’s all the pretty notebooks and pencils… but I feel a sense of beginning. I’m hoping on the 20th to go back to school. I’m going to take some courses at home to start just to ease myself into it. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. It’s been 5 years since I’ve been at school. But I’m really looking forward to it.

Also in other news, tomorrow is a holiday here. It’s also the first time I get to work on a holiday. Everything is closed but because I work with the animals at a petstore, I need to go in and feed everyone and make sure they’re ok. It’s awesome cause I get paid time and a half for three hours, even though I’ll only be there for one. Extra money is always good.

Really other than that things are pretty boring. I’ve been working on another site as a side project for my counseling. I’m supposed to describe my life in great detail in 2015 as I would want it. It’s due Tuesday so I really need to get it done. I’m debating about posting it here….. we’ll see Since this has been a pretty short blog, I’ll leave you with a song I’ve been obsessed with lately….. I know I’ve horribly absent, I swear I’ve tried to sit and right a blog many times. This last month has just been insanity. But I’m writing now It’s also 1:30 am and I have to be at work in 7 hours…. but that’s beside the point. (Though it does explain the random mumblings that are to follow.)

Pretty much real life is sucking a lot of ass at the moment. Everything is just so chaotic, between finances, relationships, work…. my brain is just much. It’s very overwhelming and now I’m just trying to get through it all day by day.

But strangely today I’m feeling very optimistic. I’m thinking about going back to school, about going for a career I want. I’m thinking about ways I can get through this financial hurdle. I’m really starting to see that things will be ok. That… or I just stopped giving a shit… but either way I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

Now after that mushy ramble…. how about a preview for a really kick ass show, The Vampire Diaries? Only a couple more weeks til Damon graces my screen again. Night everyone.

30 Day Meme: Day 3 Favourite TV Show

This has to be one of the easiest days ever. Hands down my favourite show in the whole world is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I still remember watching the first episode as it aired, and I remember watching the last.

It started when my mom was very excited for the show to come on. We both really enjoyed the movie. (Though it was a commercial and critical flop) It aired March 1997 which was just before my 13th birthday. Once I saw that first episode I was hooked until its cancel in 2003 (When I was 18). So pretty much I spent my whole teens years watching it every week.

I remember me and my best friend Joe would have Buffy marathons all the time through high school. I went through a lot during my teen years and Buffy was always there. I guess it was almost like a weird/morbid security blanket? (I’m well aware I have issues.)

So safe to say I do own every season on DVD and have lost count how many times I’ve actually watch the whole show through. Really it’s sad… but I’m ok with that.

Ugh…. I love movies so much, the idea of picking one is killing me! Maybe I’ll rant about my fav genre and something will come to mind lol.

Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved horror. It started because my dad owned a video store (yes actual videos, before dvds lol). I was so fascinated by the covers of horror movies, especially the monsters. I really don’t remember the first movie I saw…. I started watching them pretty regularly from the beginning lol. My Dad was a horrible influence hehe, introducing me to zombies and werewolves. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Hands down my favourite type of movies are zombie films (with werewolves coming in close second). On one hand they can be so hilarious, and on the other they can be absolutely terrifying. I think the scariest thing is the idea of complete isolation, completely being alone in a world that wants to eat you…. pretty creepy.

That’s actually given me some ideas of my fav zombie movies:

I also love Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead etc. Some of my other fav horror movies are Hostel Part2, Blair Witch Project 2: Book of Shadows, Saw series etc. I’m not sure but I love sequels lol.

I’ve seen these floating around everywhere so I thought I would give it a shot too. I was going to save this for August… but since I have been insane crazy with work and such I might as well start now. It’s a lot of fun and a good cheat way of getting to know people hehe. So lets get started…

Favourite Song:

This is insanely hard. Honestly my fav song changes every week. I also listen to a huge variety of music… so this will be more of a fav song of the moment. Lately I’ve been obsessed with A Bid Farewell by Killswitch Engage. One of my fav bands ever, and lately this song makes me think of bidding farewell to negativity in my life. It’s time to focus on the positives and grow from here.

Well this is just an update to say I’m alive lol. I’ve been working behind the scenes on some things. Really I’ve just been lazy… and melting. It’s 33 outside, which I’m sure isn’t that hot in some places but here it’s a sauna. Ugh….

So I’ve recorded some make up videos but I’ve been having some issues trying to edit them. So probably later tonight I’ll film just a vlog to update. It will also include the Zombie cross stitch that I did end up getting Til then byes for now.

So after work today I just miss the bus. Happens too often but meh… I usually check out Chapters til the next one comes. As I go to the craft section, this comes in right in front of my view:

I completely had this omg-omg-omg moment. I actually used to cross stitch all time which I was pregnant with my boys. And of course my obsession for the undead made this the perfect thing for me. But I was strong and didn’t buy it. I’m trying to save more and be more responsible with my money. Honestly….. I’ll probably just buy it on payday anyways. Friday can’t come fast enough.

New Camera!

Hehe, project camera is now over. I got the one I wanted earlier this week. The best part is that I paid for half of it with loose change!

I had been wanting to cash in my loose change for awhile. I had pennies, nickels, dimes, etc. I was hoping to get $40ish out of it so it would cover the tax for my camera. Well wasn’t it to my surprise that after I was all done it came to $103.53! I couldn’t believe it. So now I’m a huge believer in saving every penny.

I don’t really have much else to say since it’s 11 pm, I just finished work, and I have to do some write up on my foster kitties. Tomorrow I’ll post some site updates and things I’ve been working on. Till then here are some pics I took with my new camera. None have been edited…. all done with settings on the camera:

Hey everyone. Well I’ve been saving and debating and I’m getting closer to a new camera.

Today I went out to celebrate Father’s Day with my Dad, and of course naturally spent it at Future Shop. I got my Dad some hard drive thingy for one of his many computers lol. I got looking at cameras and decided to get the PowerShot SD1400 IS. Insert pretty picture here:

Of course I’m going to pick the pink one hehe. I really like the fact it has HD video, many pic features, and it’s compact enough to take anywhere. They also had it on sale there for $219 which I believe is $50 off. I was really excited and made a decision…. only to find out they didn’t have any in stock, in any colour. They’re getting some on Tues and I put my name is to get a pink one.

I guess it’s really a good thing becuase it gives me more time to think about it. I usually don’t make big purchases like this and want to make sure I’m making the right decision. Also I still need to go and cash in my change and see how much that will contribute. But I have accomplished:

No fast food or extra purchases (my husbands been paying for pizza lol)
Set aside some money on payday
Got birthday money from my Dad (Thank you )
Switched TV providers and lowered our bill

So I’m doing good. So far selling things on Ebay is a bust. I might post some things for sale on here for fairly cheap. It’s just movies and video games etc. So yeah…. Hopefully Tues I’ll have a new camera to post about. Til then byes.
